What is the best time of year for birdwatching?
In general, autumn and spring tend to offer more balanced weather conditions and increased behavioural activity, especially related to breeding and territorial defence. Periods of intense summer heat and harsher winter conditions may bring variations in the presence of migratory species and in thermal comfort. The ideal recommendation depends on the biome and your observation goals — consult the guide for specific guidance.
How many people are the itineraries designed for?
We prioritise small groups to ensure high-quality observation, silence in the field and greater immersion in nature. The experience is designed to value each encounter. For larger groups or special proposals, availability must be checked.
Do I need to have my own equipment?
Bird Bonito provides binoculars for hire, subject to availability. If you have your own equipment, we recommend bringing it for greater familiarity during observations.
What is required to take part?
Activities take place in natural environments. We recommend light, discreet clothing, suitable footwear for trails, a hat or cap, sunscreen, insect repellent and adequate hydration. Detailed information is sent prior to the activity.

Bonito is located in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, in Central-Western Brazil. The city has excellent tourism infrastructure and is easily accessible by air or road.

Visa & documentation
Citizens of the EU, USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Japan do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days in Brazil. A valid passport is sufficient.
Practical tips
●Currency: Brazilian Real (BRL). International cards are accepted at most establishments.
●Power outlets: Brazilian standard (type N, 3-pin). We recommend bringing a universal adapter.
●SIM cards: Prepaid SIM cards available at Campo Grande airport and in Bonito.
●Climate: Subtropical. Hot and humid summer (Oct-Mar), dry and mild winter (Apr-Sep).
Cancellation Policy
- Free cancellation up to 30 days before the tour date.
- Cancellations between 15 and 29 days: 50% refund of the amount paid.
- Cancellations less than 15 days before: no refund, but credit may be used for rescheduling.
- In case of adverse weather conditions, the tour will be rescheduled at no extra cost.
- Adventure insurance included in all tours.
